George Conti is the Vice President of Global Real Estate at Iron Mountain Global Real Estate (GRE). George joined Iron Mountain in 2012 to stand up the organization’s first global real estate portfolio planning and client engagement function. In 2014 George added project delivery and transactions for the firm’s international portfolio to his responsibilities and became Vice President of Global Real Estate. Also in 2014, in conjunction with Iron Mountain’s conversion to a REIT, George played a leadership role in standing up a purchase program designed to increase the firm’s ownership of real estate. Since its inception this effort has resulted in approximately 1M SF of space being purchased and/or brought under agreement for a total of approximately $50M in investment. Iron Mountain is the market leader in information management services with locations across 40+ countries. Iron Mountain's real estate portfolio is comprised of more than 1,400 facilities with 80M SF of space, ~$650M in total operating expenses, and ~$300M in capital spending. Prior to joining Iron Mountain, George was the Vice President of Portfolio Planning, Research and IT with Fidelity Real Estate Company (FREC), the corporate real estate division of Fidelity Investments. Overseeing a portfolio of ~11M SF, he was responsible for the creation of all short, medium, and long-term real estate portfolio and occupancy strategies worldwide, covering multiple business units and functions. He also led a team focused on research, including demographics for location analysis, benchmarking, and data analytics. In addition to these responsibilities, George was also responsible for overseeing the operation of FREC’s Information Technology group, with a focus on platform innovation and adoption of mobile technology in the real estate industry. A native of the Boston area, George holds a BS from Cornell University. He served as President of the Boston Cornell Hotel Association from 2002 to 2009. He is an active member of CoreNet Global and the Real Estate Executive Board. George has been a speaker multiple times at CoreNet Global Summits as well as New England Chapter events and is a 2014 and 2015 Luminary Award winner for achieving a top 10% in speaker rating scores. He and his wife, Rachel, have four children and live outside of Boston, Massachusetts.
