Asset Manager - Inland American Lodging Advisor, Inc.

The Asset Management position will be responsible for providing asset management oversight for a portfolio of hotel investments, to include both individual asset management and portfolio level review and reporting.

Key responsibilities and duties will include:

  • Manage a portfolio of hotels (8-15 assets) and maximize the value of the assets while insuring conformance with established standards and the REIT’s investment objectives.
  • Proactively identify and communicate value enhancement opportunities within the portfolio investment return of each hotel.
  • Oversee and work collaboratively with property managers and operating partners (brands) on the status of the hotel. •Evaluate Performance of Existing property leadership team effectiveness. Recommend changes as needed to senior management company representative.
  • Conduct periodic site visits on an as-need basis (but at least twice per year), to evaluate physical condition of properties, property management, property marketability and management operating plan.
  • Constantly examine and monitor the operating performance of the assets to ensure maximum return on investment in each asset is attained. •Evaluate annual business plan, operating budget and capital plan. Oversee execution of plans throughout the year and monitor capital expenditures at each hotel to include routine capital expenditures, major renovations and ROI opportunities.
  • Utilize research, industry analysis/benchmarking, financial analysis and computer modeling fundamentals to analyze operations, financial reports, annual business plans and long term strategic plans.
  • Acquire and maintain strong local market knowledge of hotel location, product, positioning, competition, supply and demand.
  • Proactively identify and resolve ownership issues to maintain the integrity of the asset.
  • Utilize and coordinate expertise available internally and externally.
  • Report on status of assets to senior management of Inland American Lodging, both on an individual investment and portfolio-level basis.


  • Three to ten years’ experience in lodging industry
  • Lodging operations/business analysis experience required
  • Multiple unit supervision desirable
  • College Degree
  • Advanced College Degree (Business Administration) desirable
  • Real Estate management experience desirable
  • Strong skills in building interpersonal relationships
  • Previous Asset Management Experience preferred
  • Proven leadership skills/results
